Easily Connect & Integrate Data in a Single Report
From your client page in Swydo, open the Data Sources tab and click New Data Source, then choose Mailchimp. For most platforms you’ll authorize via OAuth; a few (Klaviyo, CallRail, Call Tracking Metrics, ActiveCampaign) use an API key instead. Once authorized, pick the specific account, property, or page you want to report on. Each one becomes a data source you can drop into any report.
Yes. Every Swydo report supports widgets and KPIs from multiple data sources side by side, so a single report can pull from Mailchimp, Google Ads, GA4, Meta, and more. For paid-media platforms you can also blend up to five sources inside a single widget — useful for cross-channel ROAS, total spend, or unified conversion tables. Custom blended widgets aren’t available for non-ad platforms, but reports themselves can mix anything.
Yes. Swydo connects via OAuth or scoped API keys, encrypts data in transit over HTTPS, and stores access tokens with role-based controls. Swydo is GDPR-compliant and acts as a data sub-processor under a standard DPA. You can revoke any connection at any time, and on account closure all data and credentials are deleted within 90 days. Swydo offers a 14-day free trial with no credit card required. Pricing is based on the number of data sources, not on users (seats are unlimited) or report volume. The flat plan includes 10 data sources, with a per-source rate beyond that which decreases as you scale. Frequency of reporting doesn’t affect cost. Mailchimp’s API exposes only current cumulative totals per email, not time-series data. This means: no historical reporting (you see current state only), no period-over-period comparisons, and date-range filters only control which campaigns appear, not metric values. The Locations, Links Clicked, and Domains categories also require an explicit campaign filter (they lack a “sent time” field). For agencies needing trend reporting on email, Klaviyo or ActiveCampaign integrate more cleanly.
Sort of, but with a workaround. Direct trend reporting isn’t available because the API doesn’t expose time-series data. The agency workaround: use a recurring widget that shows the most recent N campaigns with their cumulative performance — open rate, click rate, revenue — sorted chronologically. This gives clients a campaign-by-campaign view that approximates a trend, even though it’s technically a list of cumulative snapshots.
Mailchimp exposes total subscribers, new subscribers, unsubscribes, and bounces as list-level metrics, but again as current totals only. Build a list-health widget showing the current numbers, then track growth manually month-over-month using Manual KPIs (enter the values once per reporting cycle to build a true trendline). Clients who need automated list-growth trends typically migrate from Mailchimp to a platform with better API exposure.
Yes for top-line metrics — automation send count, open rate, click rate per workflow — exposed through the Mailchimp Reports API. Build an Automations widget showing each active automation’s performance. Granular per-step or per-message reporting within an automation is more limited; clients running heavy automation programs typically get more depth from Klaviyo or ActiveCampaign.
Yes if Mailchimp’s ecommerce features are connected to your store. Mailchimp exposes ecommerce-attributed revenue per campaign and per automation through the API, which Swydo pulls into widgets. Build a side-by-side view: Mailchimp-attributed revenue, GA4 email-channel revenue, total Shopify (or store) revenue, with a text widget explaining the methodology gap.
It depends on your client’s needs, not Swydo’s. Klaviyo’s API is much more reporting-friendly (time-series data, deeper flow attribution, SMS support), so if reporting depth is a key driver, Klaviyo is stronger. Mailchimp’s strengths are in landing pages, all-in-one marketing, and price for small senders. Both work in Swydo; expect richer reporting from Klaviyo, more limited but functional reporting from Mailchimp.
